Yup, just when you thought (I mean, so did I to be honest) I was finished with my featured Dubstep mixes and the Pop Dub series, I dropped this one right out the blue. It was still the summer of 2012, not long after my birthday and honestly, I couldn’t get enough of Skrillex and Damien Marley’s ‘Make It Bun Dem’ at the time. It took me right back to what Pop Dub meant to me and so many others around the world. I did a quick shoutout for any new tracks I should know about, ended up with hundreds of tracks being sent over and before you know it, I was in the mix and already thinking about the artwork.
I wish there was some creative in-depth reason to why I created the artwork, but the truth is we had some cookies sent to the house as part of some kind of fashion promo ting, I saw them, thought the colours looked sick and before you know it I was putting a lighting bolt finish on top of an iced biscuit design.
Pop Dub 8 really was and is the final mix I’ve done in the series, I consider it my bonus gift to myself and to anyone who ever enjoyed the mix series. Saluté!
