By the end of 2009, Ego Thieves had truly become one of the most popular music blogs online. At one stage we were clocking almost 8000 unique visitors a day (yes, a day!). Everyone associated us with good quality mixes, pushing new and exciting music and deemed us to have had a huge roll in the rise and rise of Dubstep and Bass music at the time.

I feel like we really confirmed the status of ‘super blog’ when Doctor P and Flux Pavilion dropped me a line on AIM to ask if they could put out a featured mix on the site to promote their recently launched record label, Circus Records.

By that time, both Doctor P and Flux were putting out hit after hit and were creating something really special. I said a big yes of course and began to work on the artwork asap to have the mix drop in time for New Year’s Eve.

The mix was a showcase of the label’s talents, a huge selection of exclusive tracks that would go on to become anthems in their own right and the birth of Circus Records was solidified.

With so many amazing releases, DJ’s and producers on the label, of course, it went on to become a huge success and still going strong today. Love to Doctor P, Flux, Cookie, Funtcase, Krafty and the whole Circus team <3
