FaltyDL – Gospel of Oak (ft Anneka)

We really want to spread FaltyDL’s name this year, we were lucky enough to find out about him last year and we can’t get enough of his music. Currently signed to Planet Mu, the same label as artists like Burial, Breakage, Benga and Hatcha. This is by far one of our favourite labels, it has such a diverse catalog of artists with various unique styles (they are also based in London!).

Gospel of Oak is only a taste of whats on the LP, You Stand Uncertain, we strongly recommend you buy this one, we are %100 certain you will not be disappointed.

In the next few days we will posting a lot more tunes from Planet Mu’s artists!

Check FaltyDL’s releases here and Planet Mu’s artists here.

MeLo-X x Drake x The Weeknd – Crew Love (Live Remix)

We love MeLo-X. Its been stated on here before and we have no qualms that will be iterated again and again. He is famous for his instrumentals and production, but he is also infamous for his live remixes.

Using his MPD and pre loaded samples and cuts of his own, he brings together his take on ‘Crew Love’ from Drakes ‘Take Care’ album, featuring The Weeknd. You can pre-order his latest instrumental album now. Stay in touch here.

The Gaslamp Killer – Monsterfromtheunderground

Brainfeeder is one of our favourite labels, they have an amazing catalog of artists, The Gaslamp Killer being one of them. If you’ve ever seen one of his live shows, he really knows how to make a crowd hype. A lot of his tracks are completely improvised, Monsterfromtheunderground isn’t but still amazing!

Born William Benjamin Bensussen, he originally comes from San Diego, CA, whose downtown Gaslamp District’s bar scene inspired him to name himself the Gaslamp Killer in disgust for much of the patronage.

PHD LDN – 2012 Showreel

Shout out’s to our brothers at PHD LDN and their new 2012 showreel which dropped on New Years Day. They have only just begun and lots more to come this year including some special projects with team Ego Thieves. Hit the site up here for more info.

Redlight – Get Out My Head (Joker Remix)

Relight has killed it this year! With too many bangers to even have time to mention… but here is a remix of one of those bangers ‘Get Out My Head’ by Ego Thieves favourite, Joker. Just having released his debut (some might say long overdue) album, this is the kind of Joker we love to hear. Hard sub wobbles, melodic synths and someone who knows a chord when he plays one.

Due for release January 22nd 2012, on MTA Records, it’s going to be another good year we can feel it.

Noisia & Mayhem ft. KRS One – Exodus (Official Video)

I know quite a few long time Ego Thieves fans have seen this one before, but it has to get posted for EgoThieves 4.0! This video literally gives us goose bumps every time we see it; the way the music is in time with the CG makes it one of the best music videos in the last 5 years! Also, KRS One…Do we need to say any more?

Noisia are doing big things, make sure you like them on Facebook (you can see the making of for the Exodus video!) and buy their albums here!

Burial – Ashtray Wasp

A clip taken from Scratcha DVA Rinse FM show (you can stream full show here, well worth checking out) of the new Burial track from the Kindred EP we posted about earlier. The track is entitled ‘Ashtray Wasp’.

Other tracks entitled on the EP are “Kindred”,“Loner”, and “Wasp Ashtray”. Very happy to see 2012 start with such a bang.

Culprate – Tentacle

We were sent this a while ago from our old mucker Inspector Dubplate and imminently fell in love with it. We are huge Culprate fans (check his album colours here) and love the direction he is going in. This also shows the pace the Inspected label is picking up, showcasing more than just filth, wobbles and tracks that apparently make people want to act so filthy they usually insert their own hands into a family members oraphis.

Next year is going to be big for Inspected and this little beauty is taken from Culprates EP, out on Xmas day no less. Though we do love the track, we aren’t sure its going to be enough to pull us away from the various meats and stuffings on this year dinner table.

Nujabes Tribute by Bob42jh

Almost 2 years have passed since we lost one of the most amazing and influencial artists of our generation, Nujabes.

Usually we wouldn’t post a YouTube video made by a random user (Bob42jh), but this is the best tribute to Nujabes in our opinion. It has some of his greatest tracks and really captures what his music is about.

It was a sad day when we lost Nujabes but he continues to live on through his music, especially here on Ego Thieves.

Red Bull Lecture – Scuba

Big ups to Red Bull Music Academy for putting on these lectures. This was a favourite of ours from ‘Hotflush Records‘ label owner, Scuba. Detailing his  musical career and insights into his thoughts on UK Garage, Jungle and why he hates Dubstep. For label owners or industry folks, this is a good watch.

D&B Flash Dance x MC Skibadee

Someone sent this to us a few days ago and we obviously missed the boat on it, but had to post nether the less. All we know is we laughed our arses off, it happened in Dubstep city ‘Croydon’, was made by E4 and it features MC Skibadee’s ‘Human Error’ track. Watch it all the way through and while out.

Madlib – Flowers

Forgive us for posting another Madlib tune today, it had to be done. We actually can’t think of one tune we don’t like from Madlib, this one is called Flowers and it’s one of his more chilled tracks.

It’s difficult to find his albums as they are so rare, my advice if you find some available in hard copy: buy it!
