FaltyDL – Gospel of Oak (ft Anneka)

We really want to spread FaltyDL’s name this year, we were lucky enough to find out about him last year and we can’t get enough of his music. Currently signed to Planet Mu, the same label as artists like Burial, Breakage, Benga and Hatcha. This is by far one of our favourite labels, it has such a diverse catalog of artists with various unique styles (they are also based in London!).

Gospel of Oak is only a taste of whats on the LP, You Stand Uncertain, we strongly recommend you buy this one, we are %100 certain you will not be disappointed.

In the next few days we will posting a lot more tunes from Planet Mu’s artists!

Check FaltyDL’s releases here and Planet Mu’s artists here.

The Gaslamp Killer – Monsterfromtheunderground

Brainfeeder is one of our favourite labels, they have an amazing catalog of artists, The Gaslamp Killer being one of them. If you’ve ever seen one of his live shows, he really knows how to make a crowd hype. A lot of his tracks are completely improvised, Monsterfromtheunderground isn’t but still amazing!

Born William Benjamin Bensussen, he originally comes from San Diego, CA, whose downtown Gaslamp District’s bar scene inspired him to name himself the Gaslamp Killer in disgust for much of the patronage.

Noisia & Mayhem ft. KRS One – Exodus (Official Video)

I know quite a few long time Ego Thieves fans have seen this one before, but it has to get posted for EgoThieves 4.0! This video literally gives us goose bumps every time we see it; the way the music is in time with the CG makes it one of the best music videos in the last 5 years! Also, KRS One…Do we need to say any more?

Noisia are doing big things, make sure you like them on Facebook (you can see the making of for the Exodus video!) and buy their albums here!

Madlib – Flowers

Forgive us for posting another Madlib tune today, it had to be done. We actually can’t think of one tune we don’t like from Madlib, this one is called Flowers and it’s one of his more chilled tracks.

It’s difficult to find his albums as they are so rare, my advice if you find some available in hard copy: buy it!

Buy some of his albums from here.

Madlib – Pyramids

We thought we should post a tune from an artist signed Stones Record, seeing as how we just posted a MADVILLAIN x Kidrobot vinyl toy!

Madlib is probably one of the greatest artists we’ve ever heard, he has such a unique sound it’s difficult to pin his music to one genre. It’s a shame he’s still underground, his music has been pumping through our speakers for years and will continue to do so. Expect a lot more from Madlib here on Ego Thieves.

Buy his music from here.

Benga – Stop Watching

Big bad Benga has officially been worked over by Digital Soundboy into a mash up video for Youtube. We all know this is quite common and a new art form. Were you have a classic track worked into a bunch of random video clips all in perfect sync. Digital Soundboy is becoming a fav of mine. This video included clips from classic Hip Hop videos such as ‘Breathe & Stop’ and even movie clips from the likes of Saturday Night Fever lol! See how many you can name or spot.

Roll Deep – Club 7

THIS IS AN ARCHIVED POST

Now i wasn’t going to post this because Moving In Circles is just plain swag, even for a ‘Pop’ song and personally Roll Deep have just destroyed a big Wiley beat known as Club 7… but i just wanted to post this and ask what the hell is this video about? Is like Harry Potter, mixed with a desk and half naked girls, then shots of a ‘city’ and urm more capes? i mean watagwan? Its too late for me to make some sort of quirky joke so boy, judge for yourselves.

Scorcher ‘I Know’ Official Music Video

THIS IS AN ARCHIVED POST

Though I’m not a great fan of Scorcher post 2006. I’m feeling this track. Not sure what him/they are marketing this as, and though the video is generic with no real concept. The grading and colors are very well done. Click inside the post for the extra making of this video and watch out for Concrete Jungle coming in March.
