With Metronomy scoring one of the highest acclaimed albums of 2011, it’s only fair that there have been an onslaught of remixes, reworks, rejigs and similar re’s to boot. One of the best, which emerged just yesterday, comes from lovestepper Two Inch Punch who gives ‘The Look’ a sexy overlay with eargasmic consequences.

We love MeLo-X. Its been stated on here before and we have no qualms that will be iterated again and again. He is famous for his instrumentals and production, but he is also infamous for his live remixes.

Since we launched the new site, we have been playing catch up on a few things we loved, but didn’t have the chance to post beforehand. Here is another one for the backlog.
Culprate, who most of you him for his pretty hard hitting wobbles, released an experimental album a few months back called ‘Colours’. Though it may not be to everyones tastes, that doesn’t phase us. No time for a full review right now, but here is our favourite track ‘Black’. Its such a good album and we love to support producers who aren’t afraid to step outside of their comfort zone. Here at Ego Thieves HQ, we are very proud of fellow Essex dweller, Lapalux. Only 22 years old, he recently celebrates the fact he has been signed to the mecca of Electronica, Brainfeeder (Home of Flying Lotus). No one deserves it more and 2012 is shaping up to to be real big for him.
Since its Sunday and we are continuing with our slow down sessions, here is one of our favourites. Lapalux’s remix of Fink, Perfect Darkness track which was released in October. Russia is known for many things. The best Vodka in the world, very cold weather and not so great home made cars lol. But one thing it should be known for is the very Russian beats of DZA.
Incorporating his unique blend of scattered loops and 8bit mechanics, he is a producer after our own hearts. His ‘Zoo Keeper’ EP released on Error Broadcast, does nothing but break expectations and is a must have. Above is our favourite from the EP, ‘Vanilla’. Another day, another Donky Pitch banger sunk deep in our DJ folders. This is taken from the amazing debut EP ‘Clase de 1984′ from Niño. Even though its a year old, wonky electronic release from Slugabed & Ghost Mutt is still getting rinsed at the Ego Thieves HQ. The track above “Thoroughbred” is our fav and just works on so many levels. Good to see Donky Pitch going from strength to strength, and no doubt you will see more from them right here.
