Now embarking on his more ‘commercial’ career, coming under allot of scrutiny from his original fan base, he decided to do what he does best and finally put a digital release date on a huge favourite track of ours ‘Love What Happened Here’. Here at Ego Thieves HQ, we are very proud of fellow Essex dweller, Lapalux. Only 22 years old, he recently celebrates the fact he has been signed to the mecca of Electronica, Brainfeeder (Home of Flying Lotus). No one deserves it more and 2012 is shaping up to to be real big for him.

I (Jenai) remember sitting on Skype, roughly this time last year, speaking to Ghostpoet on many occasions. Usually moaning about the state of Eastenders while sending hidden tracks to each other for inspiration…all while he penciled the vision for his album.
The other thing we also used to speak about was how scarse his bookings were, the politics and tribulations of record labels and stresses of him losing his job, moving homes and trying to stay focused.
Fast forward a year and im sure even Ghostpoet would agree, that our predictions have been blown out of the water. With shows around the globe, a handful of amazing videos and a critically acclaimed debut album ‘Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam’, oh and did I mention a Mercury Prize nomination? Things are shaping up nicely for him and deservedly so!

Some interesting news we thought we would share. Skrillex has be nominated not just for one Grammy award, but five! Good news for EDM? Bad news for EDM? Or just happy he put out the new Koan Sound EP lol? Either way a great achievement for any artist.
It’s hard for us to define our taste in music, there are so many different genres and artists we love and Aphex Twin is definitely one of them. He is a pioneer of electronic music and always will be. The sounds we hear today in many different genre of music, is because of him.
He is a genius and it’s a sad day when anyone who loves music, has never heard his; which is the main reason for us posting this here! Also we think IZ US goes perfect with this video!
