Ladi6 – Ikarus
One of New Zealand’s finest talents returns with some boom-bap R&B this morn. Ladi6 from Auckland has already churned out two albums. 2010 sprung the certified gold, sophomore effort, ‘The Liberation Of…’ which also spawned platinum-selling Top 10 single ‘Like Water’.
‘Ikarus’ comes as a first taste of the third LP and oh, what a contagiously sweet aesthetic it has. Those lush vocals flirting over butterflying arp touches are almost edible. Much like a Twix. I want one now.
