Music Drops Part I

THIS IS AN ARCHIVED POST

Hi all, here is part one of the daily round ups. First being music.. you will find downloads, news, info and everything else in between we have found for the day all in one convenient post. This means we don’t waste lots of posts doing what most other blogs/magazine sites do just to fill the site up. We would rather concentrate on original content 🙂

Yup. Its all very serious round here in the UK for us Youtubers YouTube is blocking all premium music videos to UK users after failing to reach a new licensing agreement with the Performing Right Society (PRS).” We are talking about thousands of videos that will be unavailable to the UK. Now the short of this is Youtube feel PRS (who in Lemans terms control the license money involved in music) have asked for too much money. It also said ‘‘YouTube has also complained of a lack of transparency by the PRS, saying the organisation would not specify exactly which artists would be covered by any new deal.” Now Youtube are and have been under immense pressure to build its business model for some time now, this has only taken the company a step back. But all credit is due to Youtube for holding its ground… very interested to see how this all pans out. Source
