DJ Cable is by far one of the most talented DJ’s to come out of the UK, he is also one of the nicest and most down to earth people in the scene. He has always had his fingers in so many pies and forever pushing new sounds and perfecting his craft.
He hit me up on AIM (yes, Aim lol) one night and told me about this project he was working on with Rock The Dub and DJ Nappy and asked if I wanted to get involved. He wanted to put out a mix to further merge the world of Hip Hop and Dubstep. The term ‘Thugstep’ was already starting to do the rounds, as basically every producer just added ‘step’ to the end of anything in those days. He sent me some promo tracks he produced and of course, they were fire. I knew this would be another controversial mix, especially after the Borgore mix and I jumped on board straight away.
I created the artwork, we created a release schedule and before you know it, I was getting messages from all over the world asking wtf is Thugstep and where can they get some more! DJ Cable is still lighting up speakers all over the world and you can go follow his antics on Twitter to find out where he is playing next.
