It’s been long time coming I know. We did have a ringtones section on the old website and it went down very well. I have been busy figuring out how to improve it and make it easier to use and now, I have finally done that. So welcome to the new Egotones section.

As of now we have a selection straight from Cookie Monsta bringing some dirty bass on the go. All our ringtones are FREE but of course if you use and enjoy them make sure you go and support the artists and producers buy buying their tracks, following their twitters, joining their facebook pages and of course going to see them life in the flesh.

All the ringtones are in .mp3 format and you also get the iPhone version included for all my Apple fan whores. I will be adding more and more exclusive ringtones very soon, including some classics! So watch this space. Hope you all enjoy and we slyly launched it last night and its already had well over 200 downloads. So I expect to hear some bangers on the tube very soon…! Big ups to you all.

Yo all,

First of, big up the many visitors who returned waiting for the new site to be back up along with the many emails, comments and twitters telling us how much they love the new look layout. Secondly, welcome to all the new faces and people who have joined up. Im sure allot of you were silent downloaders lol but are now taking advantage of getting in early to sign up and download the mixes before the general public do.

Amazing feed back also on the new mixes and of course lots of love for the Borgore exclusive. This week watch out for the new Dubfluencial its going to be packed! As well as a special Dubplate mix from my boy DJ Drama and DMC DJ supreme DJ Cable will be dropping us another exclusive mix, this time doing something special. And if that wasn’t enough..! We have a special competition rolling out at the weekend for members only which will be open to my UK family and our cousins across the pond over in the US.

Two more quick announcements is we are now iPhone compatible…! Which means if you visit us using your iPhone or mobile device you will get a simplified version which will load nice and quickly and perfect for small screens. We will be updating and modding it accordingly.

Last announcement is we are looking for contributors and DJs. Do you think you could add a mix series that will stand out? We are looking for anything and everything. As long as its fresh, new and exciting. Also if you think you could add to our news or posts let us know. Do you go to loads of events and could give us pics? Which in ET terms means that we are nearly on the way to fixing all the download links. Bare with us, as its a hell of allot of files to upload!! Big ups to all that has shown mad support whether it be by comments, emails (many of them!) Twittering, Facebook or texts lol we appreciate the love trust. Lots of new posts coming in the next few days as you can see by our new header we are updating the site in a big ol way which we are sure you will all love. As for Ministry we have heard nothing yet, but the battle goes on and we will get an answer even if we have to send a crew down there to chain them-self’s to railings or some shit.

An Egotatsical Update

Big thanks to you all for the thousands of downloads. The demand for me to DJ has gone through the roof, so right now we are making time to make this happen and taking Ego Thieves to the next level. So expect to see us live in the flesh very very soon.

Web&Developments

Lots and lots of changes here on Ego Thieves website. I’m no where near as happy with the website as i want to be, perfectionist? me? Dam right i am, and its my own torture believe me. But as we strive for perfection it only does us justice of standing out from the rest.

First off is our brand new family carousel. Giving everyone a glimpse at our vast network of talent. Including our very own Binary Kids (Watch out for a feature on them very soon!), our little brothers Flow Nerds, our family and cousins over at Urban Nerds, Ape Apparel (Read below for more info) and of course the granddad of the family Nuckin Fang. Watch out for a few more secret additions in the next few days including a few familiar faces.

Redesign of the sidebar is on route. We have made it much more clean, though many miss the cans they where just a mess and didn’t fit in with the site. We have added our blogroll so if you feel you should be on it then give us a nudge on our contact page. We have cleaned up the code to make the site just that little bit faster. Everything from comments to the contact page is being looked at and tweaked. We love the positive feedback we always get on the site and will continue to push the levels. Also do you like our YouTube player disguised as secret Ego Thieves player?

TV&Tee’s

When Ego Thieves was born in the mind of myself while sitting on the top floor of a North London house in Holloway. I had full intent of pushing and creating an independent UK Fashion brand along side the media brand and that’s exactly what i intend to do. Now because we like to up the levels and we don’t do things by half we have been planning and waiting for the right time to produce and announce any information.

Here is just a treacle of information on whats to come. We are setting up a label, it will not be called Ego Thieves but something else which is still a secret. It will be its on entity and we will take it as seriously as we do everything else. We have partnered up with Ape Apparel himself Jc Adams to be our creative director and lead the design. With myself and Excel running the label’s business and the genius that is Rachel White on the PR.

Expect some more news over the next coming months, for now you can still grab your Ape Apparel T-Shirts, though be quick because going fast is an understatement. Expect lots from the label and as im sure most who follow us know it will defiantly push the boundaries and do big things.

Its that time again where i fill you in on whats new and whats to come on Ego Thieves ( and why everyone has been missing for like a week or more and lack of posts!).

Out&About

Manic is the only word to sum up the last few weeks. Sorry myself and the team have been missing. Along side some bad times and emergencies we have also been very busy working on some secret projects.

Now even though this is suppose to be our ‘Summer’, i guess in England this is as good as it gets. But while the Sun is here we are taking advantage. Big up those who attended the Ego Thieves Picnic. Lots of drink, lots of erm… Jamaican roll ups, plenty of food and those crazy little choc muffins were serious tings!

The Urban Nerds have been all over the place as usual, so visit the website to find out more. But make sure you all come and hit us up at Urban Nerds & DMC World this Sat at 93 Feet East. See info below this post. Lots of tunes, lots of Sun (we will make it Sunny with our new Sun Skank.. you ain’t ready!) a big ass BBQ and the full crew in effect. Big up Sally, James, Mark, Rompa and the whole family. Make sure you come also to catch Ego Thieving Professor Green doing his Upper Clapton Dance.

While our bleak excuse for a Summer is here, Semothy Jones is still havin it up in Oz land. Ive been told work on the Operator Please album is coming along nicely and he is due back in July when we will have more information on the new Nuckin Fang and Ego Thieves company merge love fest.

Make sure you also check out the lovely girls that are Binary Kids who have just come off tour with Lady Sovereign and Man Like Me. See there blog post here and have a read on the antics they got up to. Also remember to hit up Random Impulse who is busy doing 1001 things with top heads in the game and last but not least Mr Maverick Sabre who is just pure genius. Downloading&NewFaces

I’m sure by now you all know about the merge of Nuckin Fang and Ego Thieves. What this merge means right now is that we have moved the blog side of Nuckin Fang to Ego Thieves and the new Nuckin Fang website will be here very soon giving you more information on whats poppin. Also if you haven’t seen them around here are The Flow Nerds, who cover anything from Fashion to Music videos. They will also be out and about doing interviews for us and bringing you even more exclusive content. We also have I Am Kane, top badaman Electro DJ who now produces our Electzilla series and also posts bits and bobs around this bitch. Last but not least is Score 5 from the biggest radio station pun ze airwaves Rinse FM. More info on that in the should be post above.

Last but not least is Neelam. She is an up and coming journalist who will also be covering interviews and bussing out those reviews on the latest releases. She knows her stuff and check out her review on the Donaeo album a few posts after this. You can also visit her blog here for a few of her archived bits.

Downloads have been off the shabalaheezy! Make sure you visit our Mixes page where you can easily access our exclusive podcasts in one convenient place. We have had over 50k downloads in total since end of March (and thats all we have been able to trace!). That is nuts since most of the promo is word by mouth and industry based. Big up all those blogs who re post the mixes, all the forums that show love and even those crazy brehs who re up our mixes onto Torrents (even though they are already free in the first place lol…). We plan to keep up the pace and up the levels but if you have any requests or ideas hit us up on our contact page. Also props to all the DJs and producers who email in biggin the mixes up, keep sending those riddems you get me doh!

TV&Tee’s

Vision Thief TV is still coming… i still cant say much yet but what i can tell you is we are taking it very seriously and its not going to be your average hood video compilation (well so our make up artist and stylist say lol) and will push Web TV to a whole new height. We are very busy working on other stuff and don’t want this to be a half ass project so hold tite. What i can tell you is i been speaking to SB:TV and we may hook up to bring you some exclusive interviews on the biggest Dubstep stars around. More info after Urban Nerds.

‘I Ego Thief‘ apparel is still coming and still in many shapes and forms. You won’t be able to buy these, very much like a Blue Peter badge these will be given to the honored, chosen by our panel of Thieves. But fear not, we have a whole new range of Tees and Polos that you will be able to purchase (or blag depending what side of the bed i get out of that morning and what your apprentice skills are saying) for those summer days. They will be limited and will be exclusive and quality is our quantity so expect nothing less that the finest. None of your Fruit Of The Loom here my friends. If you come to Urban Nerds expect to see some floating about. Also watch out for the DJ specials.

Semothy Jones Is Still Alive & Now With Yung Ho’s!

Also been told he is away another 5 weeks to finish off the album which is good but bad lol. But watch out for lots of exciting news for when he is back as well as updates on the Nuckin Fang Management and lots of ting and tings…! Jenai

”Hello All,

The last note I wrote was about me jetting off to Oz, an now its been almost a month I thought I’d fill you in on how things are going.

Sunny yes, hot no, not that day anyway (such a lame photo of me, but proves i’m here)

First off, NO, i’m not burnt, its nice an sunny, warm, but not boiling, tis winter here but still really nice though. Secondly, NO, I am not chilling with stereotypical Australian animals and thirdly NO, no one has said g’day to me.

So thats the main questions over with, now the real info

The band i’m working with ‘Operator Please‘ are very cool. Amandah has mad skills, though shes mainly just mad. If you give her some Cola she will actually entertain you for hours. Timmy is like my new little adopted brother, were currently sharing an apartment/hotel type thing. Obviously I got the double bed an he’s on the pull out thing, but lets face it drummers aint important. They are always pushed to the back so gotta keep him in his place you know. Lucky he’s actually quite funny so I let him talk when were home. Chris is cool, though I think me being sick in a club because someone was sick on me didn’t really set off a great introduction… but hey since when did I do cool? and the rest i’m yet to meet.

Ben (engineer), Amandah, Myself

Been spending the time writing tracks, got some really really strong ones now and sounding really good! We had a few hicups with locations an stuff, writing on a farm in the country was cool but not very practical when its freezing outside an you got to turn the volume off after 9pm lol. So we moved to a new studio in Sydney and have got all settled and started to get our flow going but now we gotta move again! So writing has not been easy, especially when most bands get a year or so to write an album we have about a month so believe it aint easy. But when we do get it right, we REALLY get it right so its cool and we are getting there.

The Farm

Recording will be done in Melbourne, have heard good things about the place and mainly that its the city most like London, so will be interesting, I keep getting asked if i’m homesick and I kinda am in the sense that I miss the familarity of knowing where to go get some nice jeans and fried chicken, but if I could just move my shops here with my friends from the UK i’d gadly do a year out here. Alas, this is not possible so I have days where I wanna teleport home an see some people but then the music starts and its like a reminder of why i’m here and how exciting it is to be working on something so new and cool. Its a mish mash of UK, OZ & US vibe… very global so far. Global and universal are the key words I’d use to explain its vibe so far.

Am looking into doing a Sky Drive with Timmy for his birthday but we shall see…ermmmm. We went to see Wolverine which had some scenes filmed at the farm I was staying at (check ze pics) and ermmmm mind is blank and can’t think what else though I can tell you i’ve used chopsticks more this week to eat than any previous time in my life. I think Sushi is officially a fav now! Errrrmmmm got some nice clothes, sick trainers ect, went Casino an doubled my money for the night and of course got drunk…etc etc

Website Outage!

Just a quick one to say sorry for the outage last night. Its not because we have poor hosting (quite the opposite!), not even because we were hacked. But because the surge in traffic in the last few months has been crazy and we went over our bandwidth limit. With over 30k unique visits since March and well over 300k page views things are on the rise. Big shout out to all that love how fast the site is and loving the brand new direct downloads! Lots more to come from us dont you worry…. watch out for the update post this week and more to come tomorrow.

Ego Thieved That Space…!

Thats right, though most who know me know i cannot stand Myspace for its poor software, poor layout, poor coding, spam galore and the rest. But one thing it is for, and quite essentially is the music scene of all genres. It seems the best way to stay and get in contact with lots of the niche producers, bands and artists we love so i decided to create one. Now being Ego Thieves i couldn’t just do this the bog standard way and have created the official Myspace page which you can see a preview of below, click the pic to link to the page and befriend us! Also added our sexy drink collection a MS bevy.

Ego Thieves Are AWOL Until Monday!

Yup. Im afraid we just been too busy this week to drop you any goodies. We are away on a stag weekend for Sir Robert Murphy (hence the pic, where only you can get away dressing like the hood fairy out to shank some teeth without anyone thinking wa da bumba!!) … i wont say whats going to happen, but messy im sure! Pics and post when we come back (well maybe, depends how much Rob gets terrorized :P ).

On the return of us you will find lots of new posts from the team including new members Flow Nerds and I Am Kane.Also two new mixes Just House Vol 3 (sorry for delay!) and guest mix from a special DJ.
