One2Watch : Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi i hear you say? Well you either know or you don’t. I have been following this breh for a few years now. His ‘Kanye’ inspired swagger is perfect for easy listening and catchy hooks all day long. He bounced on the scene in 2005 with a trail of small cameos and recently shadowed by label (Fools Gold) partners and also up and comers The Cool Kids. But, and i think it was about 4 months ago? I was emailed a track called ‘Day & Night’. I had no idea who it was as it was unnamed and no ID3. Then once i heard the intro i knew it was Cudi and bang! An anthem was born. Now you have a better idea you can grab the mixtape below. I really think this is the direction Hip Hop is going, which in my opinion is backwards and not a day too soon. Taking back Hip Hop to its grass roots can only do it justice. Enough of the Soulja shit and bring back vibes, club bangers and actual lyrics.
