Well here is another Exclusive to Ego Thieves. DJ Drama who is an Urban Nerds resident and lots more has put together this beastly mix of tracks. Todd Edwards Treehouse Mix 2009
There are only a handful of people i sincerely admire in music. Quincy Jones, Gordy Berry, J Dilla and more… but in that list is also this astrude dude from deep in the US mainland, Todd Edwards. I was lucky enough to want to DJ at such a young age (11 in fact) and around that time you either mixed Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, Jungle or this new odd sound known as House & Garage. Then it was more or less US Garage as the UK just started to take inspiration and add its own twist. Long story short, Todd Edwards is one of the founding fathers of 4×4 House.

I miss Grime. Fact. Whether you agree or not its in a better or worst state, I was there swinging my gun finger in the air at Eskimo Dances and witnessing the start of some of the greatest artists this country has to offer you can buy here. Roll Deep were pinnacle to the scene and were one of the ‘major’ crews about. Its been a crazy first week of relaunch. Just a quick note to all who downloaded and signed up, big ups to all of you and trust we appreciate your support. Ive had allot of emails an contacts asking for a few reups of older mixes and broken links. This was all due to the Ministry Of Sound madness that happened but now we have reupped all the back catalog. So no more MediaFire (for now lol), you can download them all direct and fast using our private server. We know theres still a few outstanding but we will get them up as soon as possible. We have been around now for coming up to 7 months. Not only have we managed to establish ourselves within a fikkle industry we have shone above most due to the vast amounts of work that goes into Ego Thieves everyday. But we have not forgotten where we come from. We started off like every other DJ, in your bedroom practicing for best part of the day and spending every last penny on tracks as well as trying to get yourself out there. Well now we are going to give back to those who put in the work and give you and your mixes some exposure.
Newham Generals Get Harder!
This tune dropped on my email a few months or so ago and since i got it on promo i haven’t been able to stop listening to it. Perfect mix of Dubstep and Grime produced by Breakage and the best Grime duo probably of all time… D Double & Footsie. Track is just as the title says. Here is a lii video of them performing the track live and a mini interview with Breakage. Also you can now buy this track here for just £0.70p which is cheap as chips… well actually its cheaper.
Borgore – Goresteps Most Hated
An Ego Thieves world exclusive…! We bring you Borgore’s brand new mix. If your not familiar with Borgore then where have you been? Certainly not on this site. We have been spinning Borgore tracks way back from Dubfluencial 3..! His unique sounds of Dubstep, Rock and Hip Hop have inspired him to come up with his Gorestep sound. He isn’t trying to create his own genre, he is just doing what he loves best and mixing up all these sounds up into one big head fuck with a large dose of bass.
Hailing from the land of Israel, Borgore is taking over the globe with his DJ gigs and tracks. Recently just come off a US tour and just about to embark on a UK Tour from next week (check out the tour dates HERE) there seems to be nothing that can stop him. Of course when you do something new and different people are quick to hate… but that doesn’t phase him at all which is exactly why he decided to drop his new mix to us because after all, we are here to steal your ego.
POP GOES DUBFLUENCIAL 2
Love it or hate it, POP! Goes Dubfluencial 2 is here….! The last mix had a very varied response, some of disgust and worry about where Dubstep is going and some with complete joy that Dubstep is breaking out of the Underground and creating new and exciting music. Either way we love it all and we bring you the latest version with an update of what tracks are being remixed, dropped and popped!
With original tracks coming the like of Kelis and Crookers to classic like Mr Postman getting a bassed up refix there’s plenty to keep you interested and or ashamed lol. If your new to Dubstep, this might be a good place to start. Get familiar with songs you already know and then grow to the more organic and dirty sound. Its very much a Dubstep 101 entry point. Make sure you all support the artists, producers and promoters because with them we would have nothing at all.
DUBFLUENCE 2 AKA APE.5
The last Dubfluence had a massive reception, so much so it was even published on Japanese super blog Back To Chill and given 4 out of 5 star rating. Some people seem to think Dubstep is now divided, that you either love the hard jump up bass sound which is considered cheesy to some or you love the organic deep sound which is the rightful Dubstep. Im here to show you that is not the case at all. I love both, and i support and follow both.
I wish i could do more Dubfluence mixes but the tracks don’t come thick and fast enough. I will be featuring allot of the producers on these mixes from the likes of Burial, Widdler, Heny G and more. They deserve your support as much as the next. But for the Dubstep ‘community’ to place a stigma on people and portray the scene as you either listen to ‘real’ Dubstep or you don’t is just plain stupid and wrong.
ELECTZILLA – EPISODE 3
It feels like an age since we gave you the last Electzilla. Even though only two mixes deep, they already have a mini cult following. Lots of Electro sounding bangers, wooble bass and jump up beats, its not hard to understand why. Though they are usually mixed by Ego Thieves resident Electro lord ‘I Am Kane’ this Episode is mixed by myself. Half because i love it and half because Kane has been busy moving home and creating a new bedroom for his mixing equipment lol. He will be back in the mix very soon bringing you some of his badaman skills soon.
