Its been 10 months since I decided my Ego would Thieve the world. I am still overwhelmed and always will be at how popular it has grown and how appreciated and loved it is. I will always stay grounded and make sure I let you all know how much I and the team appreciate your support.

We now have over 1000 registered users..! and just hit 650 comments (I remember when only 3 of us use to comment lol, those original members). Well its 2010 and its been the craziest start to the year ive ever or will ever have. Many have wondered where i have been and when i say many im not joking! Big up the at least 100 emails (im not joking lol) asking whats going on, when am i going to come back and how lost you all are without any new mixes lol. Well im here (y), back and glad to be. I wont bore you with whats been going on in my life nor would i tell you anyway lol, but if you think Archie Mitchells murder is a drama you have no idea.

But 2010 is here and if you think we did allot in 09, your not even remotely ready. World tours, exclusive mixes, Fashion labels and so much more we have no intention of slowing down. Ego Thieves is loved world wide, trust me its very global and we plan to cater to all. I hope you all had an amazing New Years Eve and those who celebrate Xmas put on way too many pounds (though i know many who dont who still got a bit fatter lol).

Well for the first post of 2010 we are wrapping up 2009 by re-uploading the last of the mixes. Many have emailed in and i will try to respond to those who did letting you know these mixes are up.

Binary Bass #01 – Mixed By Jack Swift

Though its just gone boxing day the funs not over yet. We have another post Xmas present for you now..! This is the first mix in a brand new series called Binary Bass, which for all our regular followers you will know this mix as MDMA Sessions. I decided to change the brand/name of this mix because MDMA Sessions didn’t fit and was only suppose to be a one off. But as its popularity grew (it seems allot love the mash up style of mixing with an anything goes rule!) i thought its about time it gets its own home.

For this to happen i have added two new members to the team. First we have David Kelly who is a young graphic designer who has worked for the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Newham Generals, Wiley and more. He will be showcasing his artwork and designs in various covers around the site. Watch out for an official welcome post this week with details on how to contact him etc. Secondly we have Jack Swift previously known as DJ Pressure. Personally i think he is one of the best DJs in this country and now he has branched out to more musical styles i think 2010 will be a good year for him.

Myself and Jack Swift will be sharing this mix both dropping one every other month. Watch out for Jack’s specials coming soon covering some of UK Garages legends in his unique live mixing style. Binary Bass represents the grit of everything Electronica! If you like your mixes to contain a bit of everything then this is for you. Todd Edwards Treehouse Mix 2009

There are only a handful of people i sincerely admire in music. Quincy Jones, Gordy Berry, J Dilla and more… but in that list is also this astrude dude from deep in the US mainland, Todd Edwards. I was lucky enough to want to DJ at such a young age (11 in fact) and around that time you either mixed Hardcore, Happy Hardcore, Jungle or this new odd sound known as House & Garage. Then it was more or less US Garage as the UK just started to take inspiration and add its own twist. Long story short, Todd Edwards is one of the founding fathers of 4×4 House. He has lasted a generation as im now 26 so that means for at least 15 years he has been a pioneer for my generation. None have manage to copy, imitate or replicate his unique chopped up style of vocals, strings, bass and well anything that you can chop up. Most still have no idea how he achieves his style of sound.

Here is a new mix from the man himself. If you don’t know what kind of sound this is check our last post were you can download some free tracks. This mix is amazing and exactly what i want in a Todd mix. Haven’t been able to stop playing it since i downloaded. I suggest you do the same. Big up Todd if you happen to read this

Im a Drake fan. I like what he brings and im a lil Wayne fan and also a Kanye West fan. But do you know who Steve Aoki is? Well if you do im a fan of his too. Now he has bought himself around to remixing one of Drakes most popular tracks, Forever. This track blew up the US charts and shot him to instant fame. Steve Aoki has smashed his jump up vibes and shown you what Hip Hop House could and should sound like. Big remix. If you don’t know who Steve Akoi is, a short summering up would be he owns the label Dim Mak Records who have signed acts such as Block Party, Whitey and Neon Blonde and Whirlwind Heat. It feels like an age since we gave you the last Electzilla. Even though only two mixes deep, they already have a mini cult following. Though they are usually mixed by Ego Thieves resident Electro lord ‘I Am Kane‘ this Episode is mixed by myself. Don’t worry, we are still here. Lots of behind the scenes work going on. Look out for the DJ gigs from myself, new header (which the feedback has been nuts!) and just a shit loads more info over the weekend. For now here is a brand new mix from super duper label Deep Teknologi. Its version 3.0 already and this is one never to disappoint. Lots of deep and beautiful house that has been mixed by S.E.F. There isn’t a track-list, simply because half of this you cant buy and isn’t even named yet. Big up the whole Deep Teknologi family… watch out for the launch party coming Nov.
