Now we are really getting warmed up for 2010. Here is yet another World Exclusive from us.

Legendary UK Garage producer Duncan Powell has hit us up with a brand new 2010 mix. This mix is simply amazing, it completely consists of his own production. 2-Step’s back to the organic sound fused with the new influences the current Dubstep sound has attributed.

The outcome is exactly this… head banging beats derived from soulful chords and samples along side a large dose of sensual bass. Its simply beautiful music at its best.

Not only is this an Ego Thieves Exclusive, there are also tracks on here that nobody has heard yet. If your a fan of Dubfluence mixes, or a fan of the likes of Burial, Silkie etc this is for you. If you have no idea what I am talking about, this is simply music to encourage thought and to relax your mind too all at the same time.

Now Duncan has said he is taking a break from music. This would be a great shame and this mix proves it. So don’t worry I will be doing my best to bug him and make sure he realises there is a brand new market out there now and it has a worldwide audience. After all only 15% of our vast traffic is from my home, the UK.

You may notice on the cover as well the question, what do you call it? People are trying to seperate the sounds and the genres. It makes no difference if it’s Garage, 2 Step or Dubstep. There are two kinds of genres on Ego Thieves. Good music and bad music. The second one does not exist in my world.

Your all going to have to bare with me while I try to catch up on the work load. There is so much to post and put up, some will be too late so im sorry if your one of those people but I will make it up to you all.

Big ups to the amount of love. I mean seriously, its very overwhelming. Last month saw over 200k pageviews, 25k downloads, we now have nearly 1000 registered users, we just hit over 600 comments in total and the amount of emails, blogs, tweets and everything else who show us love is just amazing.

2009 was the year the Ego landed, this year we get big headed. To kick off the exclusives for 2010 we have a mix here from Tekstep. Urban Nerds Retrospective – Newham Generals

So we are nearing the end of another decade. Which i find so crazy as it only feels like it was 1999 just the other day. Its been such an amazing, fantastic, horrible and crazy ten years i could ever imagine. Through out the year i will bringing you my Retrospective of what has molded my creative influences through out the decade. From Music, Gaming, Fashion, Film and everything else in between.

For starters i bring you an Urban Nerds Retrospective. Urban Nerds is a pride and joy and to have watched it grown into what it has today im happy to to say i was there and part of the family. I have lots of content which allot will remain private but i have some here to share with all of you. First up is prob the best Grime act of all time, Newham Generals. They performed in June 2008 at prob the best Urban Nerds venue 93 Feet East. It was the first time Urban Nerds hosted the DMC Heats for London. This cause some problems with the set up as its allot more complicated than people think. But Tubby isnt one of the best DJs for no reason and the show went on. The first to introduce the Dubstep sound and to this day D Double E and Footsie are the only two MCs i will ever listen to spit over Dubstep and agree they make it sound just that much better.

Mixes Reupped Part Two

Well its 2010 and its been the craziest start to the year ive ever or will ever have. Many have wondered where i have been and when i say many im not joking! Big up the at least 100 emails (im not joking lol) asking whats going on, when am i going to come back and how lost you all are without any new mixes lol. Well im here (y), back and glad to be. I wont bore you with whats been going on in my life nor would i tell you anyway lol, but if you think Archie Mitchells murder is a drama you have no idea.

But 2010 is here and if you think we did allot in 09, your not even remotely ready. World tours, exclusive mixes, Fashion labels and so much more we have no intention of slowing down. Ego Thieves is loved world wide, trust me its very global and we plan to cater to all. I hope you all had an amazing New Years Eve and those who celebrate Xmas put on way too many pounds (though i know many who dont who still got a bit fatter lol).

Well for the first post of 2010 we are wrapping up 2009 by re-uploading the last of the mixes. Many have emailed in and i will try to respond to those who did letting you know these mixes are up.

Circus Records Mix – Doctor P & Flux Pavilion [Exclusive]

Yet again we bring you another World Exclusive! This time from the boys over at Circus Records. If you don’t who they are then shame on you. Doctor P & Flux Pavilion are the two brains behind it and decided to create a home to release some of their Dirty Dubstep tracks. Since then they have recruited some of the biggest up and coming names from the new generation of Dubstep including our very own Cookie Monsta, Funtcase, Amedeus and more. Next year see’s the highly anticipated EPs from Doctor Ps smash hit Sweetshop to Flux Pavilion releasing a fav track of mine Voscillate, which even features the man himself on vocals. Along with those and some banger EPs from Cookie Monsta, 2010 sees Circus place a huge stamp on the industry.

Which is why Doctor P & Flux Pavilion dropped us this exclusive mix to showcase exactly whats to come in the new year from the label. Lots of bangers you heard and some exclusives you haven’t this is definitely not to be misses for all those Dirty Dubstep lovers and DJ’s wanting to know whats coming next.

Binary Bass #01 – Mixed By Jack Swift

Though its just gone boxing day the funs not over yet. We have another post Xmas present for you now..! This is the first mix in a brand new series called Binary Bass, which for all our regular followers you will know this mix as MDMA Sessions. I decided to change the brand/name of this mix because MDMA Sessions didn’t fit and was only suppose to be a one off. But as its popularity grew (it seems allot love the mash up style of mixing with an anything goes rule!) i thought its about time it gets its own home.

For this to happen i have added two new members to the team. First we have David Kelly who is a young graphic designer who has worked for the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Newham Generals, Wiley and more. He will be showcasing his artwork and designs in various covers around the site. Watch out for an official welcome post this week with details on how to contact him etc. Secondly we have Jack Swift previously known as DJ Pressure. Personally i think he is one of the best DJs in this country and now he has branched out to more musical styles i think 2010 will be a good year for him.

Myself and Jack Swift will be sharing this mix both dropping one every other month. Watch out for Jack’s specials coming soon covering some of UK Garages legends in his unique live mixing style. Tekstep got at us with a brand new collaboration viral video they have done with Kaus Media. Its very sadistic, very dark, doesn’t quite make sense but that’s exactly who Tekstep are. Always thinking outside the box, doing mad stuff and trying to push the boundaries of Dubstep/Electronic music as a whole. Its been a good year for them and i expect next year to see allot more coming from the camp. The track on the video is Money Maker which you can purchase here on the Tek Mode EP.

Big ups to the masses emailing, tweeting, texting and even those rare few who have my number even ringing me to ask when the next Dubfluencial is coming out.

Well here is Dubfluencial 8[PE] – A Planet Explorer mixed by Jenai. This is a very special edition for a few reasons. Last one of the year, first one for nearly three months (has it been that long :S ?), lots of special bangers with some tasty exclusives and a special collaboration of artwork from myself, JC Adams (Ape Apparel) and David Kelly. The theme is based of course on our Ape Apparel clothing range which is soon to be transformed for next year into something special, like you have never seen before. So we sent our Ape Hunter out to explore the vast universe for something new, strange and out of this world.

Its been a week or so since any updates. A few of those reasons include our server/hosting move. We now have even faster loading times on a brand new dedicated server to cope with the masses who now seem to be flooding the website. This did cause some down time and a big pain in the arse move of a database, but all is now well. Watch out for daily posts bringing you new everything and anything with a big ego.
