Yes we do nasty mixes, yes we have sexy artwork and an amazing website, yes we have a worldwide fan base and a hella lot of downloads and followers. But the one thing we haven’t done yet is bring Ego Thieves live in the flesh to the masses on a regular biases. This is all about to change.

For now expect come to see us at what shapes up to be a crazy student night out called BREAK. With a hugely diverse Dubstep line up from the likes of legends EL-B, Cotti & Crazy D to Psy:am, Stinkahbell and of course Ego Thieves. All to be held at Tutu’s, London WC2R 2NS on 1st October from 10pm – 4am.

Dubfluencial 10 aka Enter The Dub has landed. Its been a fair few months since the last one and nothings changed. Mixed by the Ego Thieves (Jenai & Drama), expect lots of hard, soulful and some of the dirtiest bass around. Dubstep has gained huge popularity which is making it more appealing to new producers. Lots im afraid are not making the cut.

We love our midrange sound, but we also love quality control. Here is our pick of what sound we love, a whole variety of it. Huge exclusives from the likes of Borgore, Funtcase, Stinkahbell, Roksonix, J.Rabbit and more, this is a mix not to be missed. Please note it is not for the feint hearted or made for laptop speakers. POP! Dub 5 – Mixed By Jenai

Im always shocked to find out how popular our Pop Dub series is. SO many of appreciate and love the combined sounds of tracks you know with a Dubstep twist. Things are really elevating for this sound too. From Katy B and Magnetic Man putting out huge original vocal tracks to Rusko rumoured to be working on tracks for Britney Spears. Let alone not forgetting our resident Dubstep superstar Borgore (love him or hate him!) who is pushing the sound of Dubstep/Gorestep to a massive audience.

Dubfluence 4 – Mixed By Jenai

Dubfluence has to be one of my first loves on Ego Thieves (Even if I say so myself). The debate on many a forum on what is Dubstep and what is not is so beyond tedious its a joke. I have said it before and I will say it again, I love all aspects of Dubstep. I love to go out and DJ and drop some nasty mid range wobble, some dirty Subs and some, just out there crazy tunes.

Then I love to come home, grab some food, pick up my Macbook and chill out to the amazing musical talents that Is Burial, James Blake, Phaeleh and more. This mix is full of Deep vibes, lots of Soul and lots of Sub. Don’t listen to it on your laptop…bring out the big speakers or get those headphones on and enjoy.

Ego Thieves Presents – Orien

Some of you who are more new to Dubstep may not of heard of DJ Orien, but allot of long standing Dubstep followers will. I first copped my Orien vinyl, Look Into My Eyes, almost two years ago. The artwork was crazy btw lol. With his signature wobble sounds and Sub frequencies that aren’t for the feint hearted, Orien always packs a punch.

He actually did this mix for Ego Thieves in July, but due to the redesign plans for the Ego Thieves brand and site, it got a delayed released until now. Lots of Dubs and lots of Sub. All my gritty Dubstep fans, this one is for you. Big ups to DJ Orien and look here at his Discogs to learn why he is a legend.

Dirrrtee Ego is a collaboration between Ego Thieves and clothing label Dirrrtee.com. A musical journey, highlighting some of the best tracks of the year all mixed by our very own Jenai. This was given away free at various events around london (Such as The Reset etc) but was never relased for public download on Ego Thieves…until now. 35 tracks from House to Garage, this is truly a non stop party mix.

Electro Electro Electro! Its been a minuet since we released an Electzilla mix. Many of you have emailed and asked whats going on and have we stopped the series etc. Well we nearly did as we just seem to find the right DJ for it. We searched around and it seemed many just didn’t fit the bill. Then one day I get sent a random mix by a DJ on Soundcloud. Downloaded it, listened to it, loved it.

DJ Drama, is back. While creating the new website and all the new juicy mixes, me and Drama are having our usual love fest on Skype trying to think of a new name for a mini Dubstep mix series. We come up with a host of names that just didn’t work. So I ask Drama what are you doing right now? He replies ‘Eating Chicken & Drinking Vodka’.

So BLAM! A new mix series is born. Taking you a deeper sound of Dubstep, showcasing yet again the many faces Dubstep has and why every one of them is as good as the last. Jenailution – 90s

Though I was born in ’83, the 90s is where it all started. Only now can we really look back and appreciate the vast quality of music that came out then. Pop music was about pushing boundaries, not living up to stereotypical views or bowing down to record labels. Songs that shouldn’t of entered the charts did, and topped them as well! Tracks from the underground crossed over to provide a decade of unreal dance music.

Jenailution – Todd Edwards

The legend and god that is Todd. Nearly every artist and producer I know have nothing but great things to say about one of the pioneers in Dance music, Todd Edwards. From UK Garage to Daft Punk, Todd has had his fingers in many a pie. One of my all time favorite producers, he has created his individual sound that so many have tried to mimic, yet failed. Chopped up samples, cut up vocals along side bouncy bassline and soulful chords… you cant go wrong. This is part one, more to follow.
