First off, NO, i’m not burnt, its nice an sunny, warm, but not boiling, tis winter here but still really nice though. Secondly, NO, I am not chilling with stereotypical Australian animals and thirdly NO, no one has said g’day to me.          

So thats the main questions over with, now the real info  

The band i’m working with ‘Operator Please‘ are very cool. Amandah has mad skills, though shes mainly just mad.  If you give her some Cola she will actually entertain you for hours. Timmy is like my new little adopted brother, were currently sharing an apartment/hotel type thing. Obviously I got the double bed an he’s on the pull out thing, but lets face it drummers aint important. They are always pushed to the back so gotta keep him in his place you know. Lucky he’s actually quite funny so I let him talk when were home. Chris is cool, though I think me being sick in a club because someone was sick on me didn’t really set off a great introduction… but hey since when did I do cool? and the rest i’m yet to meet.

Been spending the time writing tracks, got some really really strong ones now and sounding really good! We had a few hicups with locations an stuff, writing on a farm in the country was cool but not very practical when its freezing outside an you got to turn the volume off after 9pm lol.  So we moved to a new studio in Sydney and have got all settled and started to get our flow going but now we gotta move again! So writing has not been easy, especially when most bands get a year or so to write an album we have about a month so believe it aint easy. But when we do get it right, we REALLY get it right so its cool and we are getting there. 

Recording will be done in Melbourne, have heard good things about the place and mainly that its the city most like London, so will be interesting, I keep getting asked if i’m homesick and I kinda am in the sense that I miss the familarity of knowing where to go get some nice jeans and fried chicken, but if I could just move my shops here with my friends from the UK i’d gadly do a year out here. Alas, this is not possible so I have days where I wanna teleport home an see some people but then the music starts and its like a reminder of why i’m here and how exciting it is to be working on something so new and cool. Its a mish mash of UK, OZ & US vibe… very global so far. Global and universal are the key words I’d use to explain its vibe so far.

http://www.operatorpleaseband.com/home/        Erm what else… I did some offroad Motorbike riding at the farm which was fucking fun and really gonna get into Motocross when i’m back in the UK. Am looking into doing a Sky Drive with Timmy for his birthday but we shall see…ermmmm. We went to see Wolverine which had some scenes filmed at the farm I was staying at (check ze pics) and ermmmm mind is blank and can’t think what else though I can tell you i’ve used chopsticks more this week to eat than any previous time in my life. I think Sushi is officially a fav now! Errrrmmmm got some nice clothes, sick trainers ect, went Casino an doubled my money for the night and of course got drunk…etc etc
